WAYS TO INCREASE THE BOND STRENGTH OF RUBBER-KAPRON TEXTILE CORD SYSTEM

Аннотация

The article shows the results of studies on the possibility of improving the bond strength
between rubber and a kapron textile cord. Layers of a rubberized textile cord are used as a
frame at manufacture of tires. The rubberized textile cord made of kapron has several
advantages compared to a cord made from natural fibers, but there are significant drawbacks:
a viscose cord has a low adhesion to rubber. To improve the bond strength of rubber with
kapron cord, it is proposed to use the new chemical component – the epoxy silane resin – 20
resin obtained from hydrolysis production wastes in an impregnating composition. The
experimental results showed that the bond strength of rubbers with a kapron cord treated with
an impregnating composition with epoxy silane resin – 20 at 120 0С is 32% higher than with
a kapron cord treated with a conventional impregnating composition. Polyamide cord yarns
are the most durable textile material used at the tire production.
Thus, when studying the properties and types of a cord technical fabric, it was revealed
that their operational properties are determined by the composition of the impregnation for
textile cords and the technical conditions of the impregnation and heat treatment of the kapron
cord.
